03.07.2011

The first Míra´s entrance into the World Championship in category 125GP happened at Grand Prix Italia on Mugello circuit. We could fell slight nervousness before free trainings, which had vanished after the first ridden training, Míra was fully concentrated on riding and improving his performance. In the first free training Míra finished on the 17th position and tried to find out the best motorcycle settings for his riding style. In the second free training it was raining slightly, the technical differences were not so determinant and Míra got better and finished on the 10th position. The third free training took place on Saturday afternoon before the qualification and Míra got even better and got his time close to the World Championship standards, which was very motivating for him.

The qualification on Saturday was an absolute disaster. Into the crucial qualification Míra received a new engine piston and an order to ride calmly the first two laps. Míra managed the first two laps and it started to rain. There was no sense to put any endeavor into the fights as he couldn´t make his time better, so it was decided not to return in the race. This caused that Míra was given the 27th position 9th row in the starting grid. Míra wanted to gain as much as possible from the warm-up on Sunday morning and he got the 9th best time and his personal record on this circuit, which surprised a lot. The start into the race did not go well as happened in the past and Míra was leaving the starting grid on the last position. During next few laps he was getting better and he improved his personal record by half of the second to 2.00.372s and he settled on the 15th position. During the race there were very hard fights among the group, it looked very well for him as he should have earned one point for the 15th position but two laps before the end of the race Míra was too long on the brakes and fell into the cowlick. He avoided the fall and he managed to get back into the race and finally finished on the 19th position. His premier start in the World Championship on a wild card finished quite well and Míra earned at least some valuable experience.
