Mugello CIV 17.10.2010

17.10.2010

The last seventh race of Italian Championship CIV was held in Mugello circuit not far to Firenze; Tuscany. Míra arrived to Mugello with five points jump on the leader of the Championship, when he lost his 24 points jump due to fall in Misano. The free trainings on Friday were running smoothly without any complications and Míra was trying to find the best setting of the chassis for qualifications on Saturday.

The qualification on Saturday should run in the morning, but due to heavy fog it was cancelled and moved to afternoon and drew together into one 40 mins training. In this measured training was Míra told not to risk and keep the motorcycle without damages. Míra got his time better to training by 1 sec and this assured him fifth position in the starting grid, that meant second row for the race on Sunday. The Sunday’s warm up was on the wet track. And Míra finished on the fourth position. The start into the Sunday’s race was well done and Míra was third after the first curve. During the next lap Míra got better to the second position with a small distance to the leader. Unfortunately during next laps Míra lost and fell to sixth position, but Míra did not give up and started to fight forward again to the stage position. Unfortunately in the sixth lap Míra fell down in the fastest curve of the circuit and he himself and the whole team were deeply disappointed, he fell down in the speed of 190km/h due to insufficient ground adhesion of the front wheel. This avoided Míra to become an Italian champion due to too much aggressiveness of his ride, he should had been more calm and calculative. The mood among the team was really disappointing. The owner of the team said: It is pity, but we have to look ahead! For Míra the first season in the cathegory 125GP finished. He became the vice mister of Italy, which finally is not so bad, when taking into account that e.g. before the race in Misano, he was not sitting on the motorcycle nearly 3 months, which in comparison to his competitors is really a good result.
