Barcelona - Montmeló 19-20.7. 2008

20.07.2008

Montmeló is a very nice circuit situated on North from Barcelona, it has 30km length. Unfortunately there it is impossible to have trainings during the year, this circuit is always busy. So for getting known this circuit, there is not enough time. This gives the advantages to competitors, who have already trained for this circuit such as Ivo Lopes from Portugal, Vargas etc. So on Friday there are three cognitive trainings for 40 mins and on Saturday two tracking races for 30 mins and on Sundaw one warm up for 10 mins. Unfortunately this was Mira´s first race in Montmeló, so getting known the optimal trailand gear took him the whole Friday. In the second Fridays training, when Mira started getting the right grip, he hit the curb (piano) and fell. Unfortunately this time it was really painful for Mira, he was taken by the circuit ambulance to the hospital, they thought that he had broken a little bone in his right leg waist. Fortunately the doctor said that his waist is OK, it was not broken but cracked, they put a liniment on it and bandaged it, he had to rest. Even though Mira had decided to do the last cognitive training, so he would make as many laps, as he could. The Saturdays trainings did not finish according to our expectations, in the first measured lap he was 15th and we were not sure what to do with the gear. For the second measured race we had harden the gear and finally it was the 16th place, and what was the worst it made 2 sec loss by the lap. The owner and technician had decided to hard the gear in the middle and it has given the fruits. In Sundays warm up he placed directly after the first ten competitors. The first ten are really tough in times between 1,5 to 2 sec. What had helped Mira a lot, where his previous teammate advices, who came to see the race on invitation of the owner. Mara’s previous teammate races in Moto GP Acadamy and when he was contgratulating to Míra after this result, Mira thanked hem again for all advice and information he had told him before. Mira followed his advice in optimal trail, where to overtake etc. The start of this race was not perfect, Mira fell down to the 18th place, then the pursuit began, I am used to it, honestly I am happier when Mira is pushing from the back, I know him, his style, we have seen his abilities in minibikes, on the other hand I am not sure if he would bear the pressure on the top, he needs time. Unfortunately he spent much time in battle for the 10th placement. The battle with Levy from Spain was really tough, they had changed their placement up to 4 times during one lap. Finally Mira managed to overtake Levy and he finished on the 9th place with a respectful distance. I was also pleased that the interval to the winner Arenas was 1,2sec. I believe that we have moved one more step forward, and now we will see what happens in August in Valencia. There are none races in Spain during the summer, according to high temperatures. We would like to fill this free time by racing in the Czech Republic on Aprilia 125, this weekend in Most.
